GA 2021 Prayer Initiative – Week 4

 
Monday, May 31 – Sunday, June 6

This is the last of four weekly prayer guides as we pray fervently for the 146th General Assembly to be held online June 6-9, 2021. We are praying in advance for the commissioners, the moderator, the clerks, the General Assembly office, and all of those who have a role of some influence on the gathering. We invite you to consider setting aside a designated time each day to pray.

This week, we centre our thoughts around the word “Truth”. The word of the Lord:

John 8:31-32 – To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

1 Kings 17:24 – Then the woman said to Elijah, “Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of the Lord from your mouth is the truth.”

“The truth will set you free” is a marvellous phrase and profound Biblical truth that can change a life and inspire and give confidence to an institution and society. Yet with Pilate, many pause in uncertainly about what the truth is. Who are we to listen to, and how in a world of so many voices is the authoritative voice that will indeed lead to freedom.

Jesus tells us we must worship Him in Spirit and in truth, and claims to be truth incarnate. Those who know Him will know the truth and those who seek the truth will find it in Him … Read more

    Keep on your good work for this denomination for this country and this world as salt and light.
    Do not leave this denomination because this denomination need all of us.
    Keep a close watch on Rev. Stephen Kendall to see how he has turned the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Canada into the People’s Congress in the People’s Republic of China.
